Summer Singles Knockout Competition

Competition Rules

The Qualifying criteria for this competition are as follows:

Competitors must be aged 55 years or over on the commencement of the competition.

Any new member who joins RPGC and makes RPGC their “home club” with a current handicap and CDH number which can be checked by the competition secretary will be eligible if they have 5 qualifying events in the previous rolling 12 months.

However, if they join and only have 3 qualifiers in their previous 12 months at their old club they would have to play 2 more qualifiers at RPGC before being eligible to win an honours board event.

And if they only had 2 previous qualifiers they would have to play another 3 at RPGC before becoming eligible. (See rules for Board Competitions).

Prizes are awarded to the winner, second, third and fourth.

The competition sheet showing the draw will be posted on the senior’s notice board in the clubhouse. Any player not being available to play any round within the times stated on the competition sheet shall be disqualified and his opponent shall go through to the next round.

Match play competition rules apply.

The handicap allowance to be the full difference between the two COURSE handicaps.

All matches to be played from the yellow tees.

All winners must enter the result on to the computer.

Competitors must be able and prepared to play all rounds during mid-week. Any rounds played at the weekend must be agreeable to both competitors involved.

It is the responsibility of both players in each subsequent round to actively seek and agree a match date and tee time for that round to be played. Failure of any player to turn up on the agreed date and time will result in disqualification.

All queries or difficulties complying with the above rules must be formally presented to the Competition Secretary without undue delay for resolution. Only under exceptional circumstances (inclement weather, recovering from illness/injury etc.) will any round be extended by more than 2 weeks. The competition Secretary’s ruling on all matters shall be final.
