Minutes of Seniors Meeting
13th January 2021
Present: Patrick McDonough, Steve Duty, David Dandie, Dave Clark, Stuart Murry, David Costin, Malcolm Voce
Apologies: Keith Hepworth, Chris West
Minutes of previous meeting:
- Minutes accepted as a true record
Matters arising from minutes:
- Item 6 (Competitions) – Tee times on Thursdays are in contention. The Seniors have timings of 0800 until 0900 (approx.) with a break of 20 to 30 minutes until our next timings until after 1000. After the break we will see about renegotiating our timings. For the moment it is best to leave matters as they stand.
Finance Report:
- The Report has been posted onto the Seniors’ website.
- Christine is and has been doing well as our Treasurer and we wanted to mention this.
Monday Club report:
- The Monday Club is continuing for the time being until we can sort out another and better way of running the competition.
Competitions:
- Winter Pairs competition will continue until the end, even if it runs into June. This is due to Coronavirus restrictions and the course closure.
- The Winter Aggregate Competition will be discontinued/cancelled this year as only one round has been played so far.
- The registration fees for the Winter Aggregate will be used for the Summer Aggregate competition in April, ‘virus’ permitting.
Prizes:
- There is nothing to report at present.
AOB:
- AGM – we will abandon the idea of this year’s AGM due to Coronavirus.
- The handover of the captaincy usually happens at the AGM. We will have to find out what the Main Club is doing this year (check with M Northern and Martin)
- At the AGM we usually get the captain’s report of the previous year. We also get the vice-captain’s plan for the coming year and the section’s financial report is given as well.
- If the next executive is allowed to meet, Stuart Murry will see about presenting Malcolm Voce with his Captain’s coat.
- An option was presented that any unredeemed vouchers not needed would be donated to the Club’s charity.
- A suggestion of delivering winning vouchers could be done by email. This has been proven successful by Richard Hone and the Par 3 club. Richard has an algorithm for automated vouchers with the amount of winnings. The system would inform the winners by email and the vouchers sent by same.
- It was also mentioned that the system might be able to audit all vouchers done this way, to ‘used’ and ‘unused’.
