Minutes of Seniors Meeting

17th March 2021

Minutes of previous meeting:

  1. Minutes accepted as a true record

Matters arising from minutes:

  1. Item 1 in AOB – monies and vouchers won in competitions will be shown on the website.

Finance Report:

  1. No change since January other than the £500 deposit paid (but not yet cashed) for Malcolm’s Captain’s Away Day.
  2. A question was raised – would there be a refund if we go into lockdown again?
  3. We need to be a little more lenient regarding the vouchers issued, due to lockdown and everything.
  4. Chris needs to know when vouchers have been issued, how much has been issued so that she knows which financial year to allocate them.

Monday Club report:

  1. As we have been in lockdown and no golf is being played, there is nothing to report regarding the Monday Club.
  2. With the Monday Club to be given over to the Seniors, are the ladies to be considered ‘Seniors’. Will it be a Seniors male competition, a Seniors over 55 or open to all on a Monday, as it was prior to lockdown.
  3. David Dandie has stated that he is against a Seniors only day on Mondays.
  4. Further discussion is required about the changes to the Monday Club set-up.
  5. Malcolm proposed that on the Mondays Seniors competitions would be open to all over 55 years of age.
  6. The 3 Davids (Costin, Clark & Dandie) were all against this proposal.
  7. It was proposed that this would be reviewed at the end of the summer season.

 

Competitions:

  1. All competition qualifiers will start from the 26th April and all qualifiers will be from the yellow tees.
  2. Scoring will be done on-line. Twelve tee slots have been allocated starting at 0800.
  3. Thursday competitions will be an open event. Steve Duty has agreed to run these.
  4. On the last Thursday of the month there are 12 times at 0832 for the Aggregate competitions.
  5. The competition fees are to be paid up front, not individually as was previously the case.
  6. The Winter Pairs knockout will possibly end in June.
  7. All competitions entered will be included in the Order of Merit.
  8. The Singles knockout competition will be a random selection.

Prizes:

  1. There is nothing to report at present.
