Matters arising from the previous minutes
None
Finance report
In the absence of the Treasurer, the committee noted the finance reports provided by the Treasurer.
The year ending 2020 accounts have been audited and approved by Hans Bauder.
Monday Club
All is running ok, attendances are reasonable. A discussion took place about the number of bookings that are not being taken up. It was decided that the committee should monitor this before considering any further action.
Competitions
All the summer schedule of competitions are progressing well. The 2020/21 Winter Pairs has eventually reached it’s finale.
D. Costin explained the process for running the Seniors Championships. All who enter will book a tee time through Master Scoreboard for the first round. For the second round the order of play will be determined by a players position in the first round.
D. Costin has been carrying out some research into attendances for Seniors competitions. Early indications are that attendances for 2021 are 16% down against 2019 (a comparable year), however, it was stressed that the figures are at this stage based on small amounts of data.
Prizes and trophies
As yet winners for 2021 are yet to be decided. It was confirmed that the majority of the awards are presented at the Social event that takes place later in the year.
Any other business
The captain Malcolm Voce gave details of the arrangements for awarding prizes at his Away Day in July. The cost of insuring the prizes for the hole in one on the par 3’s will be £219.40.
Mike Woodhead has made a request that the committee consider subsidising shirts for club matches (as the Main Club and the Par 3 Club). All agreed that this should be adopted, and Stuart Murry will investigate suppliers and costs, and present his findings at the next meeting.
