Minutes of Seniors Meeting

17th January 2022

 

Minutes of previous meeting:

  1. Minutes accepted as a true record

Matters arising from minutes:

  1. The club manager is not required at the committee meeting unless there is something very important to discuss.
  2. Five hour round of golf in not acceptable – the Seniors are getting a bad reputation for this. Ready golf should be put into play more often.
  3. Looking for lost golf balls should not be longer than three minutes, and if there is a doubt that the golf ball may be lost, a provisional one should be taken.

Finance Report:

  1. Hans Bauder has audited the year’s account.
  2. Christine has printed a financial report for the AGM.

Monday Club report:

  1. Extra timings have been added and more might be required for additional spaces.
  2. Senior numbers are good – in the range of approximately 50+ each Monday.
  3. There is a scramble to find booking spaces for Monday competitions at 0630 two weeks before, so it will be looked into to see about booking at 1800 on the Sunday 15 days before the competition.

 

Competitions:

  1. The registration for Senior competitions and matches will be available on the Seniors website.
  2. The Winter Pairs competition is progressing but needs to be hurried up before the weather conditions become too inclement.

 

Prizes:

  1. Everything is alright at the moment. Just need to get the trophies engraved.

AOB:

            AGM

  1. The AGM will take place on the 14th February 2022.
  2. A free meal will be available after a nine hole competition.
  3. The election of committee officers will be for a three year term and all will start at the same time.
  4. Nomination forms for the proposal of committee members will be posted on the Seniors notice board.
  5. Nomination forms will be required for the position of the Seniors secretary and posted on the Seniors notice board.
  6. Proposal forms for suggestions for the benefit of the Seniors will be posted on the Seniors notice board.
  7. Invitations to the AGM need to be sent to Theresa Plimmer, Danny Harkin and Mark Northern. Seniors captain, Malcom Voce, will send these out.
  8. Meeting to start at 1300.
  9. Away from the AGM – John O’Neill’s 90th birthday is in September this year, on the day of the John O’Neill’s Greensome Day. A £100 has been earmarked to mark this occasion.
  10. Some of the Captain’s Away-Day expenses shall be met by the Seniors section.
  11. The Honours Board Competitions will take place off the yellow tees.
