Minutes of Monthly Seniors Meeting

19th August 2019

Minutes of previous meeting:

  1. Minutes accepted as a true record

Matters arising from minutes:

  1. Mention to Malcom regarding ‘fining’ a person for non-attendance of a match as a step too far.
  2. The captain might not pick the person for the next match or so. The captain would give the warning.
  3. John Tyrell has stated that he does not want to be treasurer for next year. R Jackson has also mentioned the same – no to the treasure’s position.
  4. Club abuse – need to talk to Richard Hone re Amos Christ and his actions on the Charity Day.

Finance Report:

  1. There was nothing to report at this time.

Monday Club report:

  1. There is an average of 60 members playing weekly.
  2. A suggestion was made that monies from the Monday Club might be put towards the Match game sponsorship, as the sponsorship is to be stopped. Sponsorship was voluntary at any time and not required.
  3. It was proposed that the present system of sponsorship stops after this season finishes,

Competitions:

  1. The Single’s Knockout semi-finals to be played by the end of August
  2. The next major one is John O’Neill’s Greensome on the 12th September. The entry fee is £5.00

Prizes:

  1. At this time nothing to report.

AOB:

  1. #10 – Shirland – another reason is the dubious handicaps from Shirland and it is difficult to get enough players on the day.
  2. We could have been reported to Equal Opportunity – Cath Greenwood was dropped from a Monday competition, due to some late comers rearranging the groupings.
  3. Stuart has mentioned that cleaning of the loos should not be happening after Monday Club finishes. This is something for the Main Club and not the Seniors to take to task.
  4. Mention that a small bridge be made over the trench, on the 6th hole, leading to the pond, as not everyone lands on the green from the tee.
