Minutes of Monthly Seniors Meeting

14th October 2019

 

Minutes of previous meeting:

  1. Minutes accepted as a true record

Matters arising from minutes:

  1. A treasurer’s meeting with David Dandie, Mike Jefferies and Christine West organised to hand over the books to co-inside with the financial year end the 31st
  2. Rebooking will be covered in AOB.
  3. David Clark is sorting the prize vouchers for the upcoming Presentation Evening.
  4. Coxmore GC (possible match) require everyone to dine together, change into presentable clothing after matches, first tee times after 10:30am – so based on all these we are not going to ask them to join our match competitions.
  5. Next year we will have 20 matches – we have given notice to Welton and Shirland and Burleigh Hall has been scrubbed due to poor organisation on their side.

 

Finance Report:

  1. There was nothing to report at this time.

Monday Club report:

  1. Christmas Monday Club – David Dandie is going to order the prizes (14 prizes). The office is to produce the day’s menu, 16th December will be a shotgun start. Brian Bailey is going to order the pens. Cost of the raffle will be £5.00 and there will be 10 good prizes. Prizes for nearest the pin on all par 3’s and closest to the pin on the 14th with the second shot.
  2. There is a possibility of having a Turkey Trot for next season.

Competitions:

  1. At this point there is only the Winter Pairs Competition underway.

Prizes:

  1. David Clark needs the trophy cabinet key to have access to trophies for engraving of winners’ names.
  2. The club seems to need a bona fide reason why the Seniors require a cabinet key.

AOB:

  1. Monday Club weekly bookings are to be entered on sheet for the following week. Only names entered with guaranteed timings.
  2. A possibility of adding additional points for Order of Merit – club matches will have 3 points for attending, 4 points for a draw and 5 points for a win.
  3. Names will be needed to be added to the Memorial Cup.
  4. Stuart Murry has offered to be Welfare Officer.
  5. Main club meeting – they are thankful to the Seniors contribution to the club charity – which is mainly due to Brian Bailey’s efforts.

Matters for next meeting:

  1. Texas Scramble – change to the maximum handicap of 6 – is to be discussed at the next meeting.
  2. Next meeting – player of the year – one vote, one email from all members, one person to collect and tabulate the emails.
