Minutes of Monthly Seniors Meeting

15th June 2020

Matters arising from minutes:

Finance Report:

  1. We have a credit balance of £7712.24.
  2. Our income was non-existent due to the lockdown.
  3. We had two expenditures to the Main Club – £30 for the IT support and software use and £250 our Main Club contributions.

Monday Club report:

  1. Proposal for starting the Monday Club – keep timings for our pre-booked times, use the wage packet envelopes for Monday Club fees to be handed into the Pro Shop.
  2. It was suggested that we should try to start on Monday 13th July as a dry run for further matches.

Competitions:

  1. It was suggested to get the Thursday running again for the Aggregate and other competitions for the summer.

Prizes:

  1. Nothing to mention at the moment.

AOB:

  1. Stuart Murry’s captaincy to continue next year.
  2. Vouchers – a three month extension to the actual date stated on the voucher due to the lockdown.
  3. The growth in the front of the 15th tee needs to be seen to and cut back, so we can see whether there are and players below.
  4. Boards across the gully on the 6th hole, to be used for the summer months only.
  5. The dates of next year’s matches have been sorted. They need to be sorted with David Costin.
  6. Match competitions – Singles, Ryder Cup with Par 3 – to see if they can be organised. The need for flexibility with dates to be considered.
  7. Stuart had mentioned the need for a Senior’s Captain car parking space, to be taken up with the club again.
  8. Captain’s Away Day – hole-in-one prize and other prizes on the Par 3 holes – insurance is being looked into and whether it is feasible. Raffle ticket to be sold at 5 tickets for £2.
  9. Senior section to increase the amount given to the Captain’s away day be increased to £400. Any excess money left over and monies received from the raffle tickets be returned to the Seniors coffers.
  10. The prize for the Hole-in-One will be £10,000 and there will be an independent adjudicator.
