Minutes of previous meeting:
- Minutes accepted as a true record
Matters arising from minutes:
- Theresa said that the Seniors have a place at Ramsdale and the Seniors will and should be able to play competitions.
- Access to the computer room has been granted so that the Seniors can now organise competitions.
- The Monday Club has lots of attraction from all members of the club and will still be run by the Seniors section.
- Stuart, the Seniors’ Captain, is to resign this year at the AGM, as per notification from the Main Club exec.
- In the Main Club’s constitution there is nothing to say that a rollover of captain cannot happen. In the Seniors constitution it states that the captain’s tenure can only be for one year.
- Theresa mentioned that a more formal Seniors’ day, for Seniors only, can happen on a Thursday, similar to the Ladies event on Tuesdays.
- The Monday Club will now have qualifying competitions, open to all and happen all day. Thursdays will be reserved for Seniors only.
Finance Report:
- We have a credit balance of £6624.92.
- Income of £40.00.
- Expenditures – £462.32.
Monday Club report:
- Competitions are to start on Mondays again now that access to the computer room has been made available.
- The Monday Christmas Club is a possibility. We will have to wait and see the notification for large groups from the government, for gathering for a meal afterwards. Whether we have the shotgun start is another matter.
- Competitions will be played on Mondays again, just need to sort out the various formats. They will be an all-day event.
Competitions:
- The John O’Neill Greensome will be organised, not for the middle of September but for some time in October.
- The Ryder Cup challenge is to be organised for October.
- The Winter Pairs Comp will take place this winter, starting in November, as the summer season will end in October, as previously agreed, earlier this year.
- The Winter Aggregate is being considered from November onwards on Thursdays.
Prizes:
- Nothing to mention at the moment.
AOB:
- The handicap listing has been sorted and will start the beginning of November.
- The captain and vice-captain – after discussion – will continue this year. Stuart stated that he would not consider running as vice-captain next year.
- The bushes and trees on the 15th Tee have been cut and trimmed for better viewing of the 15th
- The Juniors section will be sponsored and paid for by the Main Club Executive.
- Steve Duty asked how single players can access playing slots on-line.
- We have had a Seniors and Ladies comp in Nov/Dec and would like to continue it. The Seniors will pay for the food.
- Mike O’Brien has offered to repair the bench on the 15th Theresa has said that the materials have been acquired and will be looked into.
- The web cam has arisen again – that which to be placed in the entrance foyer between the sliding doors.
