MINUTES OF MEETING HELD 14th MARCH 2022
- Minutes of meeting 28th February 2022 read and passed as a true record.
- A warm welcome to David Insley and Mark Fisher on being co-opted onto the committee.
- Matters arising from previous minutes.
- A very in-depth discussion took place with reference to who is, or should be, allowed to take part in the Monday Club. The discussion turned into a comprehensive debate, with a general consensus that the Monday Club should revert to as it stood in 2019, pre-pandemic, that is : the Monday Cub would be open to all members to play a full part in the competition regardless of age or gender. There are at present enough tee-times to accommodate an envisaged up take on this and more tee-times are available if needed, due to the favourability of making the Monday Club a far more inclusive competition.
- This does not mean that there are no Senior only competitions, Seniors only will still include the monthly competitions: stableford aggregate, medal aggregate, eclectic, inter-club matches, Ryder Cup, Memorial Cup,Christmas Club, in fact all Honours Board competitions that we play for now.
- A proposal was put to the meeting by the Captain that we revert to making the Monday Club an open competition available to all members of Ramsdale Park Golf Club, subject to a review after 6 months and with the approval of the Centre Manager, the vote was unanimous in favour of the proposal.
- The finance report was read and was passed as a true record, it was agreed that David Dandie will carry a float of £200 to pay out cash for the 2’s winners, due to the £4.00 entrance fee being strictly card only. The financial year for this period will run from November 2021 through to December 2022 (14 Months) it will then convert to a 12 month period commencing 1st January 2023.
- David Dandie said the Monday Club was still well attended, outgoing cash payment system for the 2”s are all good.
- David Costin said that the singles draw would be made in the near future, it was suggested that there would be no free food attached to the draw which would be done by David and Richard (captain). David also said that today was the first time that the contactless payment system was in use fully for the Monday Club and only the odd few paid by cash in the morning.
- David Dandie is in the process of “sorting out” the trophies in the cabinet and would have a more in depth report by the next meeting.
- Welfare:Stuart gave the meeting a full update of our various members that were ill.
- There was no appetite to change the days or times of meetings. Secretary said that he would like to publish minutes of meetings within 1 week, this is by means of approving the minutes in draft form by the committee within a viewing time of 48 hours, if the minutes were correct and nothing missed they would then be moved from draft form to the full publication on the seniors web site, this was agreed.
- Date of next meeting : Monday 11th April 2022 , 14:30hrs.
- Meeting closed.
