1. Minutes of the last meeting
The minutes of the last meeting were accepted as a true record.
2. Matters arising from the minutes
2.1 Item 2.3: David C confirmed that exceptional score cards must be vetted by the Seniors’ Committee before being forwarded to Mark Northern.
2.2 Item 7.2: Keith raised the issue of access to the white tee on the 18th hole at the Main Club Committee and was told that it will be dealt with when finances allow.
2.3 Item 7.3: David C had put reminders on the website and notice board that members should record their scores on the computer even if entering a ‘no return’ overall.
3. Finance
There was nothing new to report in Mike’s absence.
4. Monday Club
The Monday Club was running smoothly and there was nothing in particular to report.
5. Competitions
David C gave an update on the progress of current and future competitions:
5.1 The Aggregate Medal had been updated and the current leader is Neil Harris.
5.2 S. Duty and W. Jones had been informed that their singles knockout match was to be completed by 20 August.
5.3 The current leader in the Summer Cup is Alan Ryland.
5.4 Alan also leads the Summer Eclectic.
5.5 The newly introduced Seniors’ Order of Merit is being led by Don Jarrett.
5.6 The John O’Neill Greensome is to be played on 14 September and an entry form will be placed on the notice board in the near future.
5.7 The Intersection Par 3 competition is due to be played on 18 August. A notice had been displayed asking for names of seniors who are willing to participate.
6. Prizes/trophies
Paul stated that trophies would be taken in for engraving when more winners had been established. With regards to the prizes that will be issued to the first three people in the Order of Merit, it was agreed that they will be given a choice of either Pro Shop or Victoria Centre vouchers.
7. Any other business
7.1 David C said that he will review the effect on handicaps of playing some qualifiers off the yellow tees after September.
7.2 Keith reported that an issue had been raised by a member following the most recent round of the Summer Cup. The Committee considered the written submissions from the two people involved and agreed an appropriate response which would be relayed to them by the Seniors’ Captain.
