1. Minutes of the last meeting
No amendments.
2. Matters arising from the minutes
There were no matters arising.
3. Finance
Mike presented the February financial position, highlighting the following:
3.1 There is a steady flow of income with little expenditure at this time of the year. A detailed report will be presented to a future meeting.
3.2 The Treasurer requested that all cheques payable to the seniors’ section should be made payable to ‘Ramsdale Park Golf Seniors Section’.
4. Monday Club
A report on the Monday Club was given by Keith and Brian:
4.1 Entries continue to increase with the improving weather.
4.2 The ruling that all entrants must register by 8.30am has proved to be a big help to the organizers, allowing them sufficient time to prepare for their own tee time.
4.3 Brian believes that the prize money for team games needs to be increased to bring it in line with singleton competitions. Agreed that, for team games, all entry monies would be used as prize money. Brian to present a new sheet for the organizers.
4.4 David D has agreed to take over the Monday Club duties of Keith.
5. Competitions
David C gave an update on the progress of existing competitions and future competitions:
5.1 Winter pairs finalists Brian Bailey/John Hilton and Neil Harris/Winston Jones will be playing the final at the end of March. David C has agreed to referee and report on the match.
5.2 There has been a good response for entries to the summer singles knockout.
5.3 It was learned today that, in 2016, the Main Club has reduced the number of qualifiers for Board Competitions from 5 to 3. This rule will be adopted by the seniors with immediate effect.
5.4 Richard Hone has once again agreed to help with the draw for the singles knockout.
6. Prizes/trophies
Paul reported:
6.1 Nothing outstanding other than the outcome of the Winter Memorial Cup and the winter pairs.
7. Any other business
7.1 No firm date yet for the Captain’s Away Day at Keddleston Hall.
7.2 Patrick has agreed to give some thought to becoming Vice Captain for 2017/18.
7.3 Steve agreed to help David C with organizing competitions.
