Minutes of Monthly Seniors Meeting

13th January 2019

Matters arising from minutes:

  1. Burleigh has cancelled all matches.
  2. Due to problems with schedules, matches against Mapperley will be played once a year – this year at home and next year away.
  3. Chilwell matches will be played home and away.
  4. All prizes will be handed out at the Presentation Evening at the end of October.
  5. Order of Merit Trophy – as players will receive 3 points for attending matches against other golf clubs, the Captain will only receive 2 points.
  6. In Texas Scramble matches – there won’t be a maximum handicap in force.
  7. Presentation Evening – to be kept as it is. There was a suggestion of a free meal for all (to help reduce the financial balance) rather than £10 per person. The Captain will choose either to present the trophies on the evening or after the Monday Christmas Club match in December.
  8. On this matter we will respect Stuart’s choice – prize winners will have a free meal.
  9. Regarding the Presentation Evening – in October – invite the lady members and their partners – with a free meal. This will be announced at the AGM.
  10. The prize winners Presentation Evening to happen on the 24th October 2020.

 

Finance Report:

  1. A signed copy of this year’s finance report has been handed to Steve Duty.
  2. There has been criticism about the balance in the Senior’s account – 0ver £7600.
  3. Mike has produced a budget and is laid out in his report.
  4. We talked about payment made to the Club regarding the domain, Handicap Master. The club pays for them and we make a financial contribution.
  5. It is critical that the handover of the section’s financial matters to Christine West is made before the AGM.
  6. Three signatories are required for the account, two are in place, Mike’s name has to be removed and Christine’s name added.

Monday Club report:

  1. Administration should be better with the computer sign-in, effective for the 03rd Registration will start two weeks before – on the 20th January.
  2. Cut-off date for entry and meal request will be adhered to – rather than allowing last minute additions.
  3. Monday bookings is now set up – two weeks before – book in the pro shop two weeks before, book online 8 hours later.

Competitions:

  1. The winter pair’s competition is progressing ok with three matches to be completed by the end of January.
  2. Winter aggregate is continuing ok at present, subject to the weather.

Prizes:

  1. Nothing at the moment.

AOB:

  1. AGM – date set as Monday 10th February, a 9 hole comp to be played before and bacon/sausage cob and coffee to be handed to attendees.
  2. Home matches – the green keepers to be informed so as disruption to match play is at a minimum.
  3. Election of officers – a three year cycle – need to figure out timings.
  4. Nomination for the Treasurer
  5. Nomination for the Secretary
  6. Date of the Monday Christmas Club match will be the 14th December 2020.
  7. The Club’s charity day – a prize for a hole-in-one on the 6th hole will be a car this year.
  8. On the Seniors Captain away day – a prize of £5000 for a hole-in-one
  9. On the 17th February a free meal of stew and dumplings will be given to members.
